·      Mona Lisa
·      I’m Going To Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter

Get ready to transcend yourself into another special moment in time.

••• Dorian Harewood has enjoyed a multi-faceted prolific career as an actor and singer on Television, in Film, on Stage and on Broadway spanning more than 50 plus years as a celebrated and critically acclaimed performer.

Dorian holds the unique distinction of having portrayed the two largest roles in the most widely seen network AND non-network mini-series in the history of television. In the role of Simon Haley (father of author Alex Haley) in the ABC miniseries, “Roots: the Next Generations,” he aged from 17 to 70 years old, creating the largest role in the combined 26 hours of “Roots” I and II. And he is probably best known for his award-winning portrayal of 1936 Olympic champion and American hero Jesse Owens, in “The Jesse Owens Story,” as the titular character.

Dorian gained critical accolades as the role of Eight Ball in Stanley Kubrick’s classic war film, Full Metal Jacket. In 1994, he garnered a NAACP Image Award for his role as jazz/blues saxophonist Clarence “Cool Papa” Charleston on the NBC-TV series, “I’ll Fly Away”.

Dorian’s recent television credits include ABC-TV’s hit series, “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS-TV’s “The Equalizer”. Other television credits include, NBC-TV’s “Viper”, “The Hoop Life”, and guest starring roles in such series as “Private Practice”, “Boomtown”, “Las Vegas”, “Sarah Connor Chronicles”, “Criminal Minds”, “9-1-1”, “Big Sky” and a recurring guest starring role on “Bel-Air”.

Most people, worldwide, know Dorian as an actor. But what most people don’t know… is that Dorian Harewood, who was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk awards in 2024 for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical” for his starring role in the Broadway musical, The Notebook, started as a singer.
